Community​

Located at Beith, North Ayrshire, the low-rise apartment housing is situated on a prominent corner near the town's high street. The proposal aims to encourage social interaction between members of the community by inviting them into the central courtyard space. The courtyard can be used to host local community events, for friends to catch up with each other and to also allow the café to spill out in to during summer.

Located on the first and second floor are four apartments which vary in typology to accommodate different residents. Although the apartments are situated above an area which aims to promote community social interation, a series of thresholds are put in place to allow residents to acquire privacy.
